Customer

The customer is a company within B2C distribution and with more than 800,000 private customers on the Danish market.

Challenge

In connection with the implementation of a new system for handling private customers, it was decided to move the new customer system from an on-premise solution to an AWS infrastructure.

The objectives were

Establishing a robust IT infrastructure
Reaping the benefits of full scalability
To achieve transparency in operating costs
To avoid using resources on routine tasks (“undifferentiated heavy lifting”)
To ensure that new solutions are implemented quickly in a technologically superior infrastructure

Solution

Establishment of infrastructure in AWS which enabled moving the application from a hosted platform onto AWS. After the initial move away from the hosted platform, work continued to develop and design an AWS infrastructure that supports a highly available AWS infrastructure.

Result

Implemented and maintained a fully scalable customer application infrastructure that handled the migration of all 800,000 customers from SAP to the new platform and infrastructure. The established infrastructure provides agility in the development of APIs for collecting transaction data for the customer application when using serverless technology. In addition, the AWS infrastructure has enabled the use of Lambda and microservices for future development of front-end applications.
